Nach monatelangen Leaks und Gerüchten hat Ubisoft kürzlich bestätigt, dass Assassin’s Creed Mirage tatsächlich der nächste Teil der Hauptreihe ist. Eine vollständige Enthüllung des Spiels wird auf der Ubisoft Forward am 10. September stattfinden – aber natürlich bedeutet das nicht, dass die Leaks aufhören, vor allem, weil es sich um ein Ubisoft-Spiel handelt.
Der prominente Insider Tom Henderson hat die offizielle Beschreibung des Spiels geleakt, die anscheinend aus der PlayStation Store-Liste stammt (die noch nicht veröffentlicht wurde). Und sie scheint viele Details zu bestätigen, die bereits zuvor berichtet wurden. Basim wird der Protagonist des Spiels sein, und als Schauplatz wurde das Bagdad des neunten Jahrhunderts bestätigt.
Wie bereits berichtet, deutet die Beschreibung auch stark darauf hin, dass das Spiel viel stärker auf Stealth fokussiert sein wird als die letzten Assassin’s Creed-Titel. Außerdem ist die Rede von einer „dichten und lebendigen Stadt, deren Bewohner auf jede deiner Bewegungen reagieren“, was darauf hindeutet, dass das Spiel eine ähnliche Zuschauerdichte aufweisen wird wie Assassin’s Creed Unity aus dem Jahr 2014 – was wiederum mit den Leaks übereinstimmt.
Interessanterweise bestätigt der Klappentext auch, dass Assassin’s Creed Mirage als Cross-Gen-Titel erscheinen wird und dass Cross-Gen-Upgrades ohne zusätzliche Kosten angeboten werden.

Wenn man den Berichten Glauben schenken darf, wird Ubisoft bei der kommenden Präsentation mehrere weitere Assassin’s Creed-Spiele vorstellen, darunter Project Red und Project Hexe, die beide Teil von Assassin’s Creed Infinity sein werden (auch wenn sie noch eine Weile auf sich warten lassen könnten).
Leaks haben auch behauptet, dass ein Remake des ursprünglichen Assassin’s Creed in Entwicklung ist und als Teil des Assassin’s Creed Mirage Season Pass angeboten werden wird.
